The pressure of suddenly preparing for take-off after a delay is something all cabin crew will be familiar with, however it’s not yet clear what was the direct cause of the Ryanair flight attendant’s fall from the stationary aircraft.
The London-bound flight was reportedly running late, and there was a stressful atmosphere onboard, according to passengers.
“It was very confusing and unprofessional. It was almost like a state of panic when everything had to be done really quickly,” one passenger says in The Local.
It is still unclear why the hostess fell, but reports say the vehicle which carried the stairs to give access to the plane backed away and the hostess tumbled out of the back exit of the plane.
Gothenburg City Airport’s CEO Annika Nyberg told news agency TT: "The stairs had been removed and the door to the plane was closed. What made her open the door we don't know.”
The flight attendant sustained injuries to her head and was bleeding when the ambulance came to pick her up, according to the passenger quoted., She has since not been about to give more details about how the incident happened.
