 l 2 hour sessions focused on fixing problems with learners' pronunciation.
  Supplementary Classes are student-centred and will provide an opportunity
  for learners to improve their English communication skills in an aviation
  context.  \nThese classes are not lectures - they are practical and inter
 active classes conducted by a licensed Aviation English teacher with years
  of experience training pilots\, mechanics and controllers.  \nClass conte
 nt:\nThe Supplementary Class will cover specific pronunciation difficultie
 s of learners in Hong Kong (typically Cantonese speakers) when communicati
 ng in English. The Pronunciation Supplementary Class is composed of 4 modu
 les.\n\nVowel sounds\nBasic phonemes (minimal pairs such as /p/ and /b/ eg
 \, 'lap' and 'lab')\,\nVoiced and unvoiced sounds\nPast tenses\n\nLearners
  will learn how the different areas of the mouth can be used to pronounce 
 the 44 individual English sounds of English clearly\, and practice these s
 ounds in a wide range of practical interactive activities.  Learners can b
 uild on what they learn in the Supplementary Classes with self-study activ
 ities which are tailor-made for each individual learner.\nLearners  can al
 so practice more advanced elements of English pronunciation that are asses
 sed in the ICAO Language Proficiency Requirements such as rhythm\, intonat
 ion\, stress (word stress and sentence stress).and build an awareness of c
 onnected speech.  \nClass standards and relevance:\nClass content conforms
  to the AEROSTA Framework developed by the Aviation English Organisation.
