Prepare for an ASPEQ ICAO test with an experienced Aviation English teacher / test developer.

Aviation English Asia Ltd's ICAO Test Practice sessions will reveal limitations in your language proficiency and provide constructive advice on how to remedy those language difficulties in the fastest time available.  

This 2 hour session will 

  • help you become familiar with the current format of the ASPEQ ICAO test, how the tasks are constructed, and how they are assessed.
  • give you the opportunity to practice the tasks you need to perform in the ASPEQ ICAO test.
  • give you the opportunity to listen to benchmarked answers from other candidates and understand why they were strong or weak.
  • give you feedback on which areas of your English you need to further improve.

Course fee:

Classroom based: $800 HKD (1 hour) $1200 HKD (2 hours) per person (not enrolled in AEA courses).  
AEA enrolled students are entitled to attend a two hour session for $500 HKD

Suitability: The class is effective in preparing candidates for ASPEQ, and other types of ICAO English test.

Class format:

Formal Language Assessment

  • Section 1: Part 1 - You will be asked one general question about some aspect of flying.
  • Section 1: Part 2 - You will be asked two questions about more specific aspects of aviation.
  • Section 1: Part 3 - You will be asked one question that is designed to test your ability to give air traffic control a concise explanation of a situation that requires urgent attention.
  • Section 1: Part 4 - You will first listen to an audio recording of a typical radio exchange between air traffic control and an aircraft. You will then be asked two questions relating to information contained in the radio exchange.

Section 2: 

You will be asked questions about the following topics:

  • Your background as a pilot or student pilot

  • Your experiences while becoming a pilot

  • Routine flight procedures

  • Emergency and flight safety

  • Your future plans as a pilot

Expert feedback and recommendations

At the end of the class you will receive feedback including the variation in your performance, benchmarked against the ICAO Language Proficiency Requirements / AEROSTA Framework Enhanced Proficiency Standards*.  You will receive expert guidance on your current level and difficulties and a recommendation for the duration of course you should enrol in, eg 10, 30, 50, 60 or 100 hours.   If you then decide to enrol in one of our longer courses to meet the target level you can just pay the difference in course feeAfter completing the recommended number of training hours you will be well prepared for the ICAO test.
