What is the IELTS test like?

The IELTS test has four sections:
- listening
- reading
- writing
- speaking
The IELTS test lasts for about 3 hours in total. After completing the test candidates receive scores within 14 days giving a band score between 1 and 9.

There are two versions of the test:
- Academic
- General Training
The academic version of the test is designed for candidates who want to enroll in the academic module of the IELTS test, whereas the General Training module is more focused on English for the workplace. It is often taken by candidates who want to live and work overseas.
